The 57S Performance Airboxes are brand new T.U.V. compliant intake systems developed by K&N, the inventor of the Million-Mile High-flow air filter. These systems increase horsepower and acceleration by dramatically reducing air flow restriction caused by the original factory design.
A K&N 57S completely replaces the factory air box and air filter with upgraded high quality components. A 57S uses a fully enclosed air box assembly with a removable lid for easy access to the filter when cleaning is required.
This innovative design delivers extra power and complies with the latest TUV emissions and sound suppression regulations. The 57S air box is injection molded for extra strength, consistency and durability. The 57S assembly is large enough to house an oversized conical K&N High Flow air filter and the entire product is backed by our Million Mile Limited Warranty.
By reducing both air filter and air box restriction, these systems provide up to three times the power gains available with a K&N replacement air filter that go into the factory air box. The weakest link in the airflow “chain” robs a vehicle of its natural horsepower. Often that weak point is the factory air box itself, a problem K&N has solved with the 57S.
GUARANTEED HORSEPOWER
We will not sell a 57S system that does not provide a measured increase in horsepower and torque (Acceleration). Each system is proven to increase vehicle power at the wheels on a dynamometer (think treadmill for cars). These thoroughly engineered systems provide huge increases in power that a customer should feel when they accelerate. Typical gains on an 4 cylinder vehicle range between 4 and 7 horsepower. We have even tested engines that provide as much as 11 extra horsepower.
SOUNDS COMPLICATED?
Nope. That’s the great part, these systems are easy to install. A typical installation can be done with a screwdriver, pliers and a ratchet set in 30 minutes. That’s because we specifically engineer the kits to use factory holes and mounting points so they do not require any cutting or drilling. Our 57S Airbox is factory preassembled and custom designed for specific vehicles to fit right into the engine compartment.

SPECIFICATIONS
Our 57S Performance Airboxesare injection molded from the same materials use in OE air boxes. Once installed, you will have a performance system with an “OE” look that looks as good as it performs. A 57S comes factory preassembles and has a removable lid to make servicing the washable air filter simple.
Inside the 57S is the largest conical shaped High-Flow air filter we could fit into the system while still using factory holes and mounting points. This extra filter size provides even more airflow at lower restriction than a standard K&N O/E replacement filter that is limited to the size of the factory air box. The oversize air filter also captures and holds more dirt increasing the service life before a cleaning is required to 100,000 miles under normal on-highway driving conditions.
The air box assembly is connected to the engine with adapters made from high strength materials such as silicon and reinforced nylon that ensures long life. Put all this together and you have the best T.U.V. compliant high-flow intake system available.
The first part number 57S-9500 has just been released and has a MSRP of £169 + VAT, allowing it to enjoy a retail pricing point below £200. It’s a direct replacement for VAG group petrol engine vehicle applications, the diesel engine version 57S-9501 will follow in August 2009.
